If you ask me what I do for a living, I’d say I’m a personal trainer. But really, it’s so much more than that. Not only am I here to show you, step by step, how to to slim your waistline and fit into those skinny jeans again, I am also going to show you how to re-ignite your zest for life.
Now, don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying that you have a boring life. In fact, I’ll bet that you’re doing pretty darn well for yourself.
What I’m talking about are those little things we let slip away from us. You know, like fun stuff you don’t do so much anymore because you have too many aches and pains. Or maybe you don’t go out and try something new because you’re just so darn tired all time. Or worse yet, you think you feel old.
Get what I’m sayin’?
You see, a funny thing happens when those extra pounds start to disappear. You’ll start to realize something: you’re still young, sexy and strong, and you got a lotta’ life left to live. (And it doesn’t hurt when you get to rock a new pair of pumps in a that hot little cocktail dress, either.)
All it takes is the right guidance, and the willingness to believe that it is possible.
So if you’re the kinda gal who wants to take your life to a whole new level of awesome, then:
You’re gonna love it here.
In health and high heels,
Mina’s venture into the health and fitness industry began as a teenager when she got her first membership to the local YMCA. She attended a weight-training orientation, and instantly fell in love. But her life had to take a small detour: Mina was raised in a musical family (she could play seven instruments) and so it was only natural that she went on to receive her Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Western Ontario in 1997. Despite this, she never abandoned the gym, and shortly after graduation, decided to take a group fitness certification course, and began teaching fitness classes on a part-time basis.
For several years, Mina led a double-life as a music teacher and fitness instructor, until finally in 2003, she made the decision to enter the health and fitness industry full-time. That year, she received her NSCA personal trainer’s certification, and later, her CSCS. She trained extensively with Movement Therapist, Janet Lemon. She also travelled to Arizona to learn the Fascial Stretch Therapy™ system from Ann and Chris Frederick, with whom she currently holds a level II certification.
In 2006, Mina attended the Poliquin International Coaching Program (PICP) level I and Biosignature internships, and later PICP II, taught by Charles Poliquin. She completed both courses at the top of the class, having become the first person ever to score 100% on all theory, technical, and practical exams. This led to the opportunity to train top business executives and amateur athletes at the exclusive Poliquin Performance Centre in Toronto.
When she is not travelling, taking courses, learning new stuff, or dancing the night away, Mina trains clients out of a private personal training studio in the financial district of Toronto. She continues to dedicate her time to enriching her knowledge of health and wellness so that she can help clients begin their journey to a healthier and more active lifestyle.
